The first published volume of the correspondence between Verdi and the Ricordis: 250 letters exchanged in the years 1880-1881 between the composer and Giuseppina Verdi on one hand and his publishers the Ricordis, on the other hand. The complex, fascinating relationship established between the Verdis and their interlocutors is furtherly outlined by explanatory notes and appendixes, reproducing documents and reviews taken from periodicals of that time.
With this volume the new publishing version of Verdi’s correspondence series published by the Institute was started: a unique volume that includes texts, explanatory notes for each letter and appendixes.
