The National Institute for Verdi Studies, today

The National Institute for Verdi Studies, the only one in Europe, is committed to the study and the enhancement of Giuseppe Verdi’s figure and work, working closely with the major specialised research institutions, opera houses and universities both in Italy and abroad.

The activities of study and cultural promotion are the editions with the correspondence volumes (divided by each of Verdi correspondents) and the yearbook magazine “Studi verdiani” (Verdi Studies) released on 1982; its own assets in terms of books, records and documents, constantly increased at the service of specialists and fans; the organisation of many conferences and exhibitions; in 1983 the establishment of the award “Rotary Club of Parma “Giuseppe Verdi” International Award”, to support new scholars; the early attention, constantly updated, to the digitalization of all documented sources and the consequent cataloguing.
